    • Fluid Viscosity: Salt helps control the viscosity of the mud, ensuring it efficiently carries drill cuttings to the surface and maintains wellbore stability.
    • Clay Flocculation: It aids in flocculating clay particles in the mud, preventing them from swelling and destabilizing the wellbore.
  • 2 - Completion Fluids: After drilling, completion fluids (also called workover fluids) are used to prepare the well for production. Salt is used in these fluids to:
